Time to move ourselves a little bit inbetween the holiday season binge eating 🎄🎆 We invite you to join our free trial classes in 3 of our studio's dance styles: Shuffle & Shapes, House and DnB Step

👟 Shuffle & Shapes 12:00-12:50

Shuffle dance is a footwork based dance that is characteristic to electronic music cultures. Cutting shapes is a similar dance style that has the same ancestor as shuffle dance - drop foot/UK shuffle. In these Shuffle & Shapes classes we will combine both styles together, mix and merge while learning about the differences of these styles. Shuffle dance is characterized by intricate footwork and ‘shuffling’ one’s feet on the floor while moving around. Cutting shapes is characterized by double tempo footwork movements and lots of hip-twisting. Both styles are intense and danced to Electronic Dance Music.

🏠 House 13:00-13:50

House dance is a dynamic and expressive style of street dance that originated in the 1980s within the vibrant house music and club scene of New York City and Chicago. It is closely associated with the electronic music genre known as "house music." House dance emphasizes individuality, creativity, and self-expression through movement. Dancers often incorporate a variety of footwork, fluid body movements, and intricate steps, while responding to the rhythms and beats of house music. Key elements of house dance include the “jack,” a signature dance move characterized by rhythmic body waving movements in the upper body, footwork and floor movements. House footwork has been influenced by African dances, ice skating, salsa, samba and many more dance styles.

🥁 DnB Step 14:00-14:50

Drum and Bass Step, often abbreviated as DnB Step, is a dynamic and energetic dance style that originated from the Drum and Bass music scene. This genre of dance is characterized by fast-paced, rhythmic movements that mirror the intense beats and basslines of Drum and Bass music. Dancers often incorporate quick footwork, sharp turns, and fluid upper body movements to create a visually captivating performance. The style emphasizes on the connection between the music and physical expression, allowing dancers to interpret the music's fast tempo and complex rhythms through their movements. DnB Step is not only a physical activity but also a form of artistic expression, showcasing the dancer's agility, coordination, and creativity. It has grown in popularity within the electronic music community and can be seen in dance battles, clubs, and music festivals around the world.

All of these classes require 0 (dance) experience, these classes are meant to introduce the styles and have fun together. In January we are starting beginner courses in these 3 styles. 🙌
